North England Conference Appoints New Ministerial Association Secretary

The North England Conference is pleased to announce the appointment of Pastor Solon Kyriacou as the new Ministerial Association Secretary, effective from 1st August 2025.

Pastor Solon brings with him over two decades of faithful ministry. Following his call into pastoral ministry in 1999, he has served churches across the Midlands and Northern England, including Nottingham, Leicester, Hull, York, and more recently the Nottingham Central, Mansfield, and Bulwell churches. His pastoral experience, rooted in humility and a deep commitment to God's mission, prepares him well for this new leadership role.

Reflecting on his appointment, Pastor Solon shared, “I am acutely aware of God’s hand in the appointment process. While it has certainly taken me outside of my comfort zone, prompting fresh reflection on my calling and responsibilities, I embrace this new chapter with a sense of anticipation. I look forward to serving faithfully in this ministry and to supporting my colleagues and fellow leaders in advancing God’s mission."

The North England Conference (NEC) President, Pastor Steve Palmer, commented on the appointment:

“The selection of any departmental leader is never a straightforward process. Each recommended candidate must be thoroughly and prayerfully scrutinised. After careful consideration of all prospective candidates, the Executive Committee's choice became clear. While no individual possesses every desirable quality, some bring particular strengths that give them a distinct edge. It was with this understanding that Pastor Solon was affirmed for the role. I am confident that he will serve fruitfully and productively. Though the task ahead is challenging, I believe he will rise to the occasion and make a significant contribution. As fellow workers in Christ, let us commit to praying for him, that he may serve with wisdom, grace, and strength.”

We also wish to express our deep appreciation to Pastor Juljan Kastrati, who will conclude his ministry with the NEC at the end of July 2025 as he relocates to the United States to continue serving as a local church pastor. Pastor Kastrati has faithfully served the NEC since January 2020, initially pastoring several churches and, from May 2023, in the role of Ministerial Association Secretary. His thoughtful leadership and genuine heart for pastoral care have been a blessing to both his colleagues and the congregations he has served.

Speaking about Pastor Solon stepping into the role, Pastor Kastrati said, "I am really excited at the prospect of Pastor Solon Kyriacou leading the Ministerial Association. I appreciate his authenticity and genuine humility. His brilliant organisational skills as well as his gentle spirit are additional blessings that will help him excel in this sensitive role."

We pray that God will continue to bless Pastor Kastrati as he enters this new chapter, and we invite our church family to join us in prayer for Pastor Solon as he steps into this important responsibility.
