Knowsley Church Receives a Double Portion of Blessings
Knowsley Seventh-day Adventist Church marked a significant milestone with a day of spiritual renewal and commitment. Pastor Ian Philpott led an ordination service and inspired the congregation to embrace Prison Ministries, fulfilling Christ's call to serve.
On Sabbath 19 October 2024, just two months after its formal organisation as a church, both regular members and visitors of Knowsley Seventh-day Adventist Church in Liverpool received a double portion of blessings through the dedicated and godly ministry of Pastor Ian Philpott, Prison Ministries Director of the North England Conference.
Reflecting on John 15:16, which says: "Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you," Pastor Philpott ordained 13 dedicated men and women to serve as elders, deacons, and deaconesses.
The ordination service took place in the morning, while the afternoon was devoted to encouraging and challenging the congregation to engage in Prison Ministries. Pastor Philpott urged the church to reach out to those whom society may have cast away, quoting Matthew 25:40: "Truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Both the morning and afternoon services served as a spiritual oasis, refuelling and inspiring attendees to carry forward the Great Commission: "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost... and behold, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20).
