Darlington Children Proclaim: “Be Strong and Courageous!”
On Sabbath 8th March 2025, the children of Darlington Seventh-day Adventist Church led the congregation in a vibrant and faith-filled Divine Service, centred around the theme “Be Strong and Courageous”. They reminded everyone that God gives us the victory, drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Joshua and the fall of Jericho.
The children brought the narrative to life through a dynamic dramatisation, portraying the march around Jericho and the rescue of Rahab and her family. Dressed in colourful costumes and equipped with shields, swords, trumpets, and even a replica of the Ark of the Covenant, they captured the hearts of all in attendance.

Their presentation was enhanced with a medley of uplifting songs including “Be Bold and Be Strong,” “Our God Is a Great Big God,” and “I’m in the Lord’s Army.” Marie Steward narrated the story with grace and energy, and later delivered a powerful sermon to the adults, highlighting the faithfulness of our unchanging God.
The children concluded their performance with a joyful rendition of “Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho,” leaving the congregation inspired and uplifted. It was a service to be remembered—one that reminded both young and old that the same God who brought down the walls of Jericho still gives victory today.
