A Life Well Blessed
Masren Ricardo Kerr, born on April 4, 1925, to Cecil and Estriana Kerr on the picturesque island of Jamaica, has lived a life marked by unwavering faith, community service, and dedication to God. Baptised at the age of 17, he began his working life as a tailor before relocating to England in 1956. Upon settling, he became a devoted member of the West Bromwich Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Over the years, Mr Kerr served in numerous leadership roles within the church, including Elder, Head Deacon, Personal Ministries Leader, and Community Services Leader. His passion for spiritual growth led him to earn certificates in Sabbath School teaching and obtain his Lay Preacher credentials.

One of his most cherished recognitions came from the Dorcas Housing and Community Support Association, where he was honoured with a plaque for his instrumental role as a founding member and his dedicated service to the community.
A committed colporteur, Mr Kerr spent years sharing Adventist literature from door to door, spreading the message of hope and salvation. His zeal also extended to humanitarian efforts—he was consistently recognised within his congregation for raising significant contributions during the annual ADRA appeals.
Once known for his Peter-like impulsiveness, Mr Kerr is now celebrated for his warm hospitality, gentle spirit, and infectious smile. His life is a living testimony to transformation and Christian commitment.

Mr Kerr marked his 100th birthday in a joyous celebration held at Wednesbury Town Hall, a day blessed with sunshine, family, and fellowship. Surrounded by his beloved wife, children, extended family, pastors, and friends, the event was filled with uplifting music, nourishing food, and heartfelt tributes. Well-wishers joined virtually from abroad, and the day was made even more special with a framed congratulatory card presented by Pastor Dan Majaducon from His Majesty King Charles and Queen Camilla. Pastor Obinnaya Iheoma offered a touching prayer of gratitude for Mr Kerr’s remarkable life, and a song written and performed by Marie Jones beautifully encapsulated his journey of faith.
Even at 100, Mr Kerr continues to joyfully sing and dance for the Lord, sharing God's love with everyone he encounters—including doctors, care workers, and nurses. In his own words, he gives glory to God for his longevity and encourages others to remain close to the Saviour.

The Lord has richly blessed his life. It was both a privilege and a joy to speak with him and witness such a historic and heartfelt occasion.
