Swinton SDA Church: Portuguese-Speaking Church Celebrates New Baptisms
Heaven is celebrating the events that took place at Swinton SDA Portuguese-Speaking Church this past Sabbath, March 21st. Three more souls were baptised to the glory of our Heavenly Father. Sister Adalgisa Amaral; Sister Isabel Costa, Adalgisa’s daughter; and Sister Elisangela Pereira made the decision to publicly give their lives to Jesus in a baptismal ceremony led by Pastor Romel Ricarte.
This Portuguese-speaking church has been actively working in Manchester, seeking to spread the gospel message to all, while also focusing on those who speak Portuguese within the city. The congregation is beautifully diverse, with members from Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe. At the same time, English-speaking visitors regularly attend and are able to follow the programme through live interpretation.
As a church community, there was even more joy, as during the appeal, four additional individuals expressed their desire to give their lives to Jesus. They will now begin preparation through Bible studies, with the hope of being ready for a future baptismal ceremony in the coming months.

In total, over the past two years, 26 people have been baptised, along with two professions of faith. Praise the Lord for these decisions, and please continue to pray for this Portuguese-speaking church as they search for a larger and more suitable place of worship to accommodate their growing community, especially as they are currently renting their space.
If you would like to support or contribute towards this need, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Pastor Romel Ricarte.
