Unexpected Blessings for Coventry North Ministry to Community

Coventry North Seventh-day Adventist church opens its doors to the community every Wednesday at 1:00 pm to run a social supermarket to help families struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.

Under the leadership of Brother Kingsley Forbis, the church has been running this social supermarket for members of the community to spend five pounds, and they can shop, leaving with over 25 pounds worth of food and household provisions. They have received finance and donations from various sponsors supporting the initiative and have used the funds to purchase more stock for their social supermarket to benefit the community.

However, on Wednesday, 1 February, they had very little stock and wondered if their provision would be enough for their community users. Project leader Forbis, and church minister, Pastor Patrick Herbert, ponded how they could run their social supermarket that day with the limited stock.

As they wondered what to do, they prayed, and within no time, they experienced what could have only been divine intervention. A local contractor walked in and announced that they had come with a delivery and asked if they could use the side door for easy access to offload the large donation (a large van load) of stock into the church. They couldn't hide their joy, but to say this must be an answered prayer. The donation included tinned foods, baby foods, nappies, and other foodstuffs.

But more blessings were to come as shortly after, the local councillor walked into the venue to reveal that she had a small amount of funding to give away today. She then requested their account details and donated £500 to their account. It was an incredible day of blessings for the Coventry North church's ministry of supporting those struggling with the current cost-of-living crisis in their community.

Area Ministerial Field Secretary, Pastor Herbert, concluded that "we are here in the Tile Hill location of Coventry to meet the needs of a community suffering from the tough times that our country is going through. We pray that one day at least one of our users will take that step and follow Jesus all the way."
