Publishing Ministries
"The Publishing department believes our publications must go everywhere… The third angel's message is to be given through this medium and through the living teacher. There are many places in which the voice of the minister cannot be heard, places which can be reached only by our publications: the books, papers, and tracts filled with the Bible truths that the people need. Our literature is to be distributed everywhere…We know not what may be the results of giving away a leaflet containing present truth." Manuscript 127, 1909.
Departmental objectives
Recruit Literature Evangelists in our churches for this ministry. The Sponsor arranges to visit various churches within the North England Conference on Sabbaths to encourage and recruit members to join the Literature ministry.
Train and empower Literature Evangelists. The Sponsor conducts online training for Literature Evangelists who desire to join this wonderful ministry. This weekly online training lasts up to four months. There is a sample of the course online, and there are over 15 courses to become a full-time Literature Evangelist, all of which are currently online.
Support Literature Evangelists. The Sponsor goes out with the Literature Evangelists to support them in canvassing. There is an ongoing virtual devotion every Sunday from 9 am to 9.30 am with all involved in the ministry.
For all SDA members to join, sign up, get trained as part-time, some-time or full-time Literature Evangelists and be ready to spread the good news to the world before it's too late. This Gospel of the Kingdom is to reach the whole world, and then shall the end come.
"Our publications must be multiplied, and scattered like the leaves of autumn" (Review and Herald November 21, 1878). This can only be achieved when the entire membership gets involved.
"The Church must give her attention to the Canvassing work. This is one way in which she can shine in the world. Then will she go forth, fair as a moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners" (E.G. White, Colporteur Ministry p.7).
"As long as probation continues, there will be an opportunity for the canvasser to work" (Testimonies, vol. 6, p.478. 1900).
